Glaucoma, Cataract, Diseases and Surgery of the Anterior Segment
Consulting Ophthalmologists looks forward to welcoming Dr. Brad Wainright in August of 2017. Dr. Wainright specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of all forms of glaucoma, cataract surgery, and anterior segment surgery. He is also available for comprehensive eye care and eye emergencies in our Farmington and Glastonbury offices.
Dr. Wainright, a Connecticut native, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University. He earned his medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine in North Carolina. Dr. Wainright stayed at Duke, completing his ophthalmology residency training and glaucoma fellowship training at the Duke Eye Center, home to the largest glaucoma division in the United States.
Dr. Wainright has received numerous honors and awards, including being named a John Harvard Scholar at Harvard University and being awarded a Dean’s Merit Scholarship for the Duke University School of Medicine. His research experience includes evaluating new glaucoma imaging modalities and analyzing surgical outcomes. He has presented his work at the Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and several other academic scientific meetings.
Dr. Wainright will be on Active Medical Staff at Hartford Hospital. He will be performing eye surgery at the Hartford Hospital Eye Surgery Center in Newington and the Hartford Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Glaucoma Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Wainright is trained in the latest developments in glaucoma surgery, including the best techniques for traditional glaucoma surgery and newer minimally invasive procedures. His cataract expertise includes training in laser-assisted cataract surgery and advanced lens implant options. He has a special interest in complex cataract surgery.
