Consulting Ophthalmologists has served central Connecticut and beyond for more than 40 years. Our team of dedicated eye doctors includes fellowship-trained specialists, comprehensive ophthalmologists, optometrists and contact lens providers.
Because our physicians are noted sub-specialists, our practice serves as a major regional referral center providing advanced speciality expertise. Laser vision correction and cataract surgery, glaucoma, cornea, retina and oculoplastic surgery are just a few of our specialties. For more information about how we can help with all of your eye care needs, contact us today!
Symptoms of cataracts include glare, halos and blurred vision. Early on, a change in glasses or contact lenses may be all that is necessary. When cataract surgery is needed, we offer the latest in laser-assisted (bladeless) procedures and mutifocal, extended range and astigmatism-correcting (toric) lens implants.
Glaucoma can be associated with an open or closed angle (drainage system). In-office laser treatments include iridotomy and iridoplasty for narrow angles and selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) for open angles. Surgical options include minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), trabeculectomy and tube shunts.
The cornea can be affected by dry eye and blepharitis or by systemic conditions such as Sjogren's syndrome and rosacea. We offer state-of-the-art diagnosis and medical treatment of dry eye and blepharitis and surgical treatment of corneal edema including endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK and DMEK).
We specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, cystoid macular edema, central serous retinopathy, retinal tears and other diseases of the retina and vitreous. We offer the latest treatment options for these conditions.
This subspecialty treats the area around the eyes including the eyelids and tear drainage system. Conditions include droopy eyelids (ptosis), chalazion, tumors such as basal cell carcinoma, thyroid eye disease, and inturned or out-turned eyelids (entropion and ectropion).
To reduce your need for glasses or contact lenses, we offer laser epithelial keratomileusis or LASEK. LASEK combines benefits of the two most commonly performed procedures -- LASIK and PRK. LASEK can treat astigmatism, nearsightedness, or farsightedness. Call us to arrange a consultation.
Consulting Optical Shops are dedicated to offering superior service and quality eyewear at competitive prices with guaranteed 100% satisfaction. We are conveniently located adjacent to the offices of Consulting Ophthalmologists, P.C. within our Farmington and Glastonbury facilities.Learn More
